The Last Word - Our First Cocktail

The Last Word

This is a classic, lost to prohibition but brought back at the turn of the century. We were introduced to this cocktail by Ted Kilgore. now the owner of Planter's House in St. Louis. If you are ever in the area, you have to stop by.

This is an easy cocktail, if you find chartreuse. I would suggest a gin you are happy with, this will change the flavor profile of the cocktail, depending on the gin chosen. Equal parts of everything; adjust, if needed, for your cocktail glass

1 oz Gin

1 oz Lime Juice (Freshly Squeezed)

1 oz Maraschino Cherry Liquor

1 oz Green Chartreuse

Pour all ingredients into a shaking tin then add ice. Shake vigorously for 15-30 secs. Double strain into your cocktail glass of choice. Garnish with a Luxardo Cherry. Enjoy

- Home Pro Tips:

1) Chill your cocktail glasses in the freezer prior to use.

2) Look for half sized bottles of Luxardo. Half sized bottles of gin are great to try different flavor profiles too
